Volunteer with us
How to Apply
Signing up to volunteer is simple. Complete our online application to get started. If you prefer a paper form (download here) or contact us and we’ll send one your way.
Orientation
Once your application is received, we’ll schedule a short orientation (about 30-45 minutes). You’ll learn about our mission, volunteer roles, and what to expect during a shift.
Volunteer Shifts
We offer flexible, half-day shifts. We ask volunteers to commit to 1–2 shifts per month whenever possible.
Why Volunteer With Us
Volunteering is a great way to:
Support local food systems and reduce waste
Learn about sustainable fisheries
Connect with others in your community
Gain hands-on experience in food recovery
Volunteering with us offers a unique and welcoming experience on the Oregon Coast. Our campus is located right on Yaquina Bay, with opportunities for birdwatching and time outdoors in a truly beautiful setting.
We’ve created a comfortable, community-oriented space for volunteers, including a clean kitchen stocked with coffee and tea, plenty of fridge space, and a cozy area to take breaks—complete with a record player.
Volunteers have the opportunity to engage with other aspects of our coastal food system work, including learning about and working with kelp, sea cucumbers, and urchins through our connection with OO-Nee Sea Ranch.
Most importantly, you’ll be working alongside a small, supportive team that values collaboration, learning, and community impact.
